About AMFB

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: We are called to care for one another. At AMFB we are edified by scripture and James 1:27 reminds us that it isn’t what we say, but what we do that is the true expression of our religion:

James 1:27 ~ Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

Widows and orphans suffered a lack of economic support in Jesus’s day so those who were true supported them. What guidance does James 1:27 hold for us today? Economic support is challenging for many of us, men and women alike. And in today’s world, the deeper form of support – God’s Love – is often overlooked. AMFB does help those with financial difficulties and our support goes further than that. We respect, love, and pray for everyone. We are in the world, but not of the world. We are of God’s love and we act from God’s love.

Our Essence

God is love.

1 John 4: 14-16 ~ We have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

The love we share is God’s love. We open our hearts to the profound gift of God’s love for us, that he sacrificed his only Son for us. We are capable of loving and serving others because we know the love of God.

Our Promise

Our promise is to listen to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. God’s promises are Yes and Amen and God’s love is unconditional love.

At AMFB we find a way to help those who need help. Sometimes that help is direct – maybe you need groceries for your family so we give you a Safeway gift card. And sometimes a situation comes up where there is not an obvious resolution. So we pray about it and we find the Yes that will glorify God.

John 14:13-14 ~ Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

Amen

Our Passion

Our passion is to serve God and we do that by serving Jesus.

Matthew 25:40 ~ Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

We witness God’s love through Jesus and we see Jesus in everyone. We experience God’s love directly and the only response is to love others in return. And so we do. To the best of our ability, we do.

AMFB works with people and prays with people, all the time.
